We'll recognize our graduates this Sunday!
May 1, 2024

Here's to another year of Growing Faith that Impacts the World for Christ!

We celebrated our 22nd Anniversary by giving back to our outreach partner, Frisco Family Services during the month of April.

• Our Impact Kids (4th-5th graders) made 12 Birthday Bags containing cake mix, frosting, party decorations and a small gift. Frisco Family Services provides Birthday Bags for families to throw their child a small party.

• Our Flower Guild put together over 80 small bouquets for Frisco Family Services to give to their senior clients. Every spring they do something special for the seniors in the community and this year they received flowers and chocolates.

• Our congregation collected almost 1000 lbs of food during the month of April! And then over 30 of us showed up at the Frisco Family Services Market Saturday morning to help unload, inventory and stock shelves. That calculates to about 835 meals for our community.

• And because our amazing congregation is so generous, we were able to give Frisco Family Services a check for $1,500 to purchase more items for the pantry. This will give them the flexibility to purchase exactly what they need to be able to continually serve our community.

Sermon - Sunday, April 28 - Rt. Rev. George Sumner
Sent Part Two - In Suffering

As a humanities student at University, I was required to take a class in Math or Science - designed to take me out of my academic comfort zone. Seeking the path of least resistance, I chose Introduction to Geology (a.k.a. "Rocks for Jocks"). I was amazed by our Professor's enthusiasm for the subject, and how he saw rock formations as "dynamic" and "interactive". Rocks? Really? But then he explained that it was all relative to timeframe. As we live in days, months and years, geology lives in centuries and millennia. To the untrained eye inert - but to those who can see, alive.

How we think about God is similar. We humans easily think of God as a great and distant monolith. On the contrary, God is mind-bendingly alive and dynamic. How does this shape our world view?
